WALTHERS CREDENTIALS
David
Walther is the only New Mexico Family Law specialist to be a
founding member of the exclusive American
College of Family Trial Lawyers, and is the only New Mexico
lawyer to be a member of its
Executive Committee. This group is limited to 100 of the top divorce
and family law litigators in the country who handle complex cases.
Since 1967 he has consistently been rated "A" by Martindale-Hubbell,
which makes him the first New Mexico Family Law Specialist to have
received this rating. He has been listed in the Best
Lawyers in America since 1987. Both of these listings are
based on surveys of other lawyers familiar with his work. He is
a fellow of the American
Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and with forty two years experience,
he is the senior board recognized family law specialist.
Books and
Articles
David Walther
has written several books and numerous articles on complex legal
subjects. Many of these articles and books have been used by courts
in their official case reports. The United States Supreme Court
has cited two of his articles. Many of his books and articles have
been used by authors of other legal articles. His most recent article
is "Ethical Perils in the Relationship Between a Judge and
An Expert," American Journal of Family Law, Volume 14,
No.2, P. 80. (2000)

Mr.
Walther has also been a lawyer in nearly fifty officially reported
decisions of state and federal courts.

WALTHERS CREDENTIALS
Gretchen
Walther is currently the chair of the State
Bar of New Mexico Family Law Section and is the former chair
of the Family Law Continuing Legal Education Committee, which provides
educational programs for domestic relations lawyers in New Mexico
on current and innovative areas of divorce and family law. She is
the chair of the Annual New Mexico Family Law Institute to bring
concentrated learning programs to New Mexico divorce lawyers, judges,
and other family law related professionals. Ms. Walther is a founding
member of The New Mexico Collaborative Divorce Group.
Activities
Ms. Walther
is a committee member of the Second Judicial District Pro Se Challenge
Project, which is a project designed to assist domestic relations
litigants who do not have attorneys. She has taught classes on the
divorce process to people who do not have lawyers. Gretchen Walther
is frequently sought as a speaker on subjects for other lawyers.
She has recently been asked to write an article for national divorce
and family lawyers on Power Imbalances in Divorce Mediation,
published in the American Journal of Family Law, Volume 14, No.
2, P. 83 (2000)
